Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a stylized map of the Kuban region, topped by an inscription of KUBAN and a Wehrmacht eagle flanked by a date of 1943, affixed with all four side clips to a magnetic metal backplate with a field grey wool liner and intact black paper backer, unmarked, the shield measuring 51. 64 mm (w) x 61. 67 mm (h), demonstrating minor and sporadic denting, in
