the eagle is notably attached with its factory original zig-zag stitching
It exhibits a small indentation along the top edge of the front cover
the obverse bearing a crowned cross with wreath below and the inscription AL VALORE MILITARE around the exterior

Instituted in 1904. In silver gilt with red, white, blue and green enamels featuring a white enamel cross with rays in each quadrant, measuring 64. 3 mm (h inclusive of its crown suspension) x 41 mm (w), weighs 33. 86 grams, typical manufacture of Bertrand, chipping evident in the blue enamels on the centerpiece ring on the reverse as well as the red enamel on the field, scattered light spotting on the white enameled arms,
